My first visit to the Art Shanty Projects in
2004 was memorable. I had just returned to the Twin Cities after 20 years of living in Northern Minnesota. An afternoon of meeting friendly bundled people, I spent most of the time in Todd Bockley’s Art Gallery shanty while Seamus, dressed in a tuxedo, ice fished. I was hooked.The next season found me never quite getting enough of the Norae Shanty
where small intimate groups of strangers put up with my karoake versions of Barry White, Stevie Wonder and Kanye West.
